Overview
Verdant is built on a simple privacy principle: your grow data belongs to you. Plant records, journal entries, photos, and environmental history stay on your device. Home Assistant, Edge, and Coach connect only when you choose to use them. We do not sell personal information.
App Data (iOS)
All plant profiles, journal entries, photos, and environmental data you create in the Verdant app are stored in its local SQLite database and photo directory. Device backups are controlled by your operating system and device settings.
If you connect Home Assistant, Verdant Edge, or Coach, the app sends the information needed for that feature to the service you selected. Journaling and Verdant's core environment views work without Coach.
Waitlist Data (This Website)
When you join the waitlist on this website, we collect your email address. We store it in Vercel KV (a hosted Redis database) and use Resend to send a confirmation email and a launch notification when the app becomes available. We do not sell this data or use it for an unrelated marketing sequence. Hosting and email processors receive the information required to provide those services.
We also log the IP address of the submission request to detect and prevent abuse. This data is not linked to any persistent user profile.
Analytics & Cookies
This website uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage and improve the site. Google and Vercel may process technical request data under their own policies. The Verdant app's local grow database is not sent to website analytics.
Third-Party Services
This website is hosted on Vercel and uses Resend for transactional email and Google Analytics for website measurement. Optional app integrations include the Home Assistant, Edge, or Coach endpoint the user configures. Each service has its own privacy policy.
Data Retention
Waitlist email addresses are retained until the app launches. After the launch notification is sent, you may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You may request to view, correct, or delete any personal data we hold (your waitlist email address). Contact us at privacy@homegrown.guide and we will respond within 30 days.
