Three separate systems run inside Verdant: one that sees, one that talks, and one that predicts. Each is deliberately fenced off from what you actually see, so a confident-sounding mistake never becomes your plant's health record.

Verdant looks at your plant photos on your device. The images do not leave your phone to be analysed.
The classifier never decides your plant is sick. It records what it saw and how sure it was; a separate, predictable system weighs that against everything else it knows. A low-confidence guess is filed as uncertain, never as a diagnosis.
Talks
Coach can run entirely on your device, so you can ask questions with no internet and no account.
What the Coach says is conversation, not a verdict. Its answers are never promoted into your plant’s health record or its scores — those come from the evidence, not from anything a language model wrote.
Predicts
This one is not AI. It is arithmetic on your sensor history — which makes it explainable and repeatable.
It runs on its own schedule, separate from the code that records your readings. A forecasting problem can never interrupt the collection of your grow history.
Controllers can show that a device turned on. Verdant looks at what followed: recovery time, overshoot, oscillation, recurring pressure, and whether the grow actually moved in the right direction.
