How Verdant works with your controller, your grow history, Edge, and Coach.
Does Verdant require an account?
No. Verdant keeps its plant memory, journal, and environmental history on your device. Home Assistant, Edge, and Coach connect only when you choose to use them.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Verdant keeps plant records, journal entries, photos, and environmental history locally. Your iPhone backup settings determine whether that data is included in a device backup.
What does the Home Assistant integration do?
Home Assistant keeps controlling your equipment. Verdant uses the temperature, humidity, VPD, soil, and light sensors you map to each grow space to explain drift, recovery, and what happened after an intervention.
Does Verdant control my equipment?
No. Your existing controller keeps running the equipment. Verdant works above it, connecting device activity with drift, recovery, plant context, and the outcome that followed.
What is Verdant Edge?
Edge runs locally with your grow. It gathers sensor and controller data, detects drift, and produces forecasts. Verdant then adds the plant history, grower actions, and outcome.
What is Verdant Pro?
Verdant Pro answers a bigger question: did the controller actually improve the grow? Using Edge, it adds a seven-day scorecard, deeper drift and recovery history, and forecasts in Timeline.
Is Verdant Pro a separate app or subscription?
No. Free and Pro are part of the same Verdant app, and Pro is not a standalone subscription. Edge availability and pricing will be shared separately.
Is Coach required?
No. Coach lets you ask follow-up questions about your grow. Verdant already tracks the environment, drift, recovery, forecasts, and scorecards without Coach.
Will Verdant publish my journal automatically?
No. Publishing is not part of Verdant today, and nothing is posted from the app.
Are the website screenshots real app screens?
Yes. Every product screen comes from the real Verdant app running in the iOS simulator. The Northstar Garden records are fictional, and the featured plant photo was supplied by Verdant’s owner.
